Choice to Sleep

If I die, it will be from fate, not from fear or silly hate.

On my terms shall my death come. To mania, I’ll not succumb.

My prayer is that my reason keep, so I can choose just when to sleep.

I’ve been there before, mind afloat, like dying man on leaky boat.

I won’t repeat, on that I swear. Deep within my soul I’ll stare.

To make the choice that I will die, and doing so, crazy defy.

When insanity’s flavor I once again taste, I’ll end my life in quick, efficient haste.
